Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Thursday, swore in six newly appointed judges to the State High Court at the Cocoa Conference Hall in Akure.
In a statement by the Governorās Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the newly sworn-in judges are Hon. Justices Adebisi Williams Daomi, Adeola Olufunke Adegoroye, Justinah Ojufisintei Kpemi, Happiness Inumidun Demehin-Ogunbayo, Wumi Fabuluje, and Idowu Mobayonle Ogunwumiju.
Governor Aiyedatiwa hailed the event as a pivotal moment in bolstering the judiciary and enhancing the administration of justice across Ondo State.
He also underscored the significance of the appointments, noting that this marks the second major judicial swearing-in during his administration.
āThis is particularly fulfilling for me, as it marks the second instance on record in our administration that appointment to the Bench of the State Judiciary would be carried out and in large numbers. These appointees have distinguished themselves in the practice of law and administration of justice in our dear state,ā the governor said.

Governor Aiyedatiwa also commended the Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Segun Aiyedun Odusola, for his leadership in overseeing a significant increase in the number of judges, effectively alleviating the burden on the courts.
The governor extended his gratitude to the National Judicial Council and the newly appointed Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, for their crucial roles in facilitating these appointments.
He further highlighted the distinguished careers and deep expertise that the newly appointed judges bring to the bench.
Praising their professionalism, legal acumen, and unwavering commitment to justice, the governor underscored that their appointments followed a meticulous selection process, ensuring that only the most capable individuals were entrusted with administering justice in the state.
Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his administrationās unwavering commitment to the rule of law and the autonomy of the judiciary, urging the newly appointed judges to serve with ādiligence, sobriety, courage, and a deep sense of moral responsibility.ā
Earlier, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Ondo State, Olukayode Ajulo, lauded the Governorās profound respect for the judiciary and his firm commitment to the rule of law.
Ajulo emphasised that through the Governorās policies and actions, the judiciary in the state has been significantly strengthened, ensuring it remains well-resourced for the effective administration of justice.
Ajulo also highlighted the critical collaboration between the judiciary, legal professionals, the executive, and the legislature, which has significantly enhanced the efficiency of Ondo Stateās justice system.
Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed judges, Justice Williams Daomi assured the people of Ondo State that the judges would maintain the judiciaryās high standards, vowing to complement their colleagues’ efforts and carry out their duties with dedication and integrity.
