FG to establish cattle breeding centres across regions – Abdullahi

The Federal Government (FG) has unveiled plans to establish cattle breeding centres across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones as part of efforts to boost livestock production and enhance food security.

The Minister of State for Agriculture, Aliyu Abdullahi, made this known on Wednesday during the second day of the Citizens ‘ Government Engagement and Midterm Assessment of the President Bola Tinubu Administration, held at Arewa House, Kaduna.

The event was organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation.

Abdullahi highlighted the importance of collaboration among key ministries, including Agriculture, Environment, Water Resources, Livestock Development, and the Blue Economy, to effectively implement the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He noted that the FG’s initiative would not only modernise cattle farming but also support the government’s broader strategy to transform the agricultural sector and reduce conflicts linked to open grazing.

The event forms part of a broader midterm review of Tinubu’s administration and its commitments to agricultural reform, national cohesion, and economic development.
