Aiyedatiwa reassures Hausa community on security

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has affirmed his administration’s dedication to protecting all residents, regardless of their ethnic or religious background.

This assurance was given yesterday during a meeting in Akure with leaders from the Hausa community and the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN).

The governor praised the Hausa community for contributing to the relative peace in the state. He urged them to continue fostering unity and to avoid any actions that could harm their reputation.

Aiyedatiwa stressed that security is a collective responsibility and his government is committed to providing adequate protection for everyone.

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Jamiu Ekungba, said the meeting aimed to promote unity, religious tolerance, and stronger security cooperation among different communities.

In response, the Secretary to the Sarkin Hausa, Abdulsalam Musa, speaking on behalf of the community, requested improved social amenities, such as health centres, and sought formal recognition for Hausa monarchs in the state.

The meeting was attended by several key officials, including the Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Fasoranti, and the Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye.

The gathering highlights the government’s ongoing efforts to maintain peace and order by engaging with diverse community groups.
