African Fashion Week Nigeria 2025 officially began on December 20, 2025, with an energetic first day that set the tone for what promises to be an exciting celebration of African fashion and creativity.
As preparations were still ongoing upon arrival, the venue quickly came alive with activity. Vendors lined the outdoor marketplace, proudly displaying a wide range of products.
From beautifully crafted shoes and stylish bags to perfumes and fashion accessories, the marketplace offered a vibrant mix of African-inspired designs and modern fashion pieces. The atmosphere reflected the strong connection between fashion, entrepreneurship, and creativity that African Fashion Week Nigeria is known for.
One standout moment from the first day was the strong presence of designers whose works caught the attention of fashion lovers and influencers alike. Among them was Binta BadmusLady, whose designs made a bold impression at the event. Her pieces were worn by influencers who later emerged as winners of the Best Dressed Challenge, earning a cash prize of ₦200,000. This moment highlighted the impact of creative styling and the growing influence of designers within the fashion community.
