Qing Madi’s former record label, JTON Music, has rejected claims of bullying and sabotage made against it, insisting that all its actions are strictly based on contractual agreements and legal procedures.

The controversy resurfaced after Qing Madi accused the label and her former management team of attempting to undermine her career, following the removal of some of her songs from major streaming platforms.

The disagreement escalated after the singer, during a recent livestream, alleged financial irregularities and accused the company of falsifying documents.

In its reaction, JTON Music maintained that it did not initiate the public exchange, stressing that the matter was first taken to court by the artiste herself.

The company explained in a statement issued on Friday that its actions were aimed at safeguarding its investments, contractual rights, business interests, and contributions to the singer’s career. It emphasized that the issue is fundamentally a business and legal disagreement over rights, obligations, and creative works developed during their professional relationship.

“It is a legal and commercial dispute concerning rights, obligations, investment, and the protection of works and opportunities developed during the course of a professional relationship,” JTON said.

The label also dismissed claims that it had engaged in threats or harassment against the artist, describing such allegations as misleading and damaging.

“It is therefore deeply concerning that the matter is now being presented online as though JTON or its officers are threatening the artist’s life or engaging in harassment. These allegations are false, unfair, and capable of misleading the public.”

JTON further disclosed that the Lagos State High Court had granted part of its interlocutory injunction application, which restrains the singer from releasing or performing certain content allegedly created, promoted, or funded under the label, pending the resolution of the case.

The company also referenced its recording and distribution arrangements with Sony Music and Bu Vision, stating that all involved parties are required to respect existing contractual commitments while the legal process continues.

It concluded by reaffirming its commitment to due process and urged the public, fans, and media outlets to allow the court to handle the matter without interference.
