Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has extended his congratulations to Taiwo Oyedele following his nomination as the Minister of State for Finance by President Bola Tinubu.
In a statement released yesterday, the governor described the appointment as a “well-deserved” recognition of Oyedele’s professional pedigree.
He noted that the elevation of the Ikaram-Akoko indigene is a direct reflection of his integrity and his transformative impact on Nigeria’s fiscal landscape.
Aiyedatiwa characterised Oyedele’s emergence as a testament to his “exceptional competence” and deep-seated expertise in economic reforms.
Before this nomination, Oyedele served as the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, where he led the most significant overhaul of the Nigerian tax system in recent years.

Expressing gratitude to Tinubu, Aiyedatiwa thanked the Commander-in-Chief for once again honouring Ondo State by selecting one of its finest experts for a critical national role.
He emphasised that having a seasoned professional like Oyedele at the federal level would yield strategic benefits for the state, particularly in leveraging Oyedele’s taxation expertise, bridging the gap through innovative funding models and aligning state goals with national economic policies.
The governor assured the new Minister of the total support of the government and the people of Ondo State.
He expressed confidence that Oyedele’s reform-driven mindset would add value to the management of the national economy while he undertakes this new national assignment.
