Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa conducted an on-site inspection of three major road projects in Akure yesterday, assuring residents of their swift completion.
The inspection followed the official flag-off of the Akure-Ijare road project.
The governor’s tour covered the Irese Flyover, the Akure–Idanre Road dualisation, and the Ijoka Road dualisation projects, drawing large crowds of residents who received him warmly.
At the Irese Flyover site, the governor was briefed by the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Ayorinde Abiola, who confirmed that the project has entered its final stage and is nearing completion.

Inspecting the Akure-Idanre Road project at Oke Aro, Aiyedatiwa commended the pace of work and urged the contractor to maintain it.
Regarding the Ijoka Road dualisation, the governor noted that the project, originally started by the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s administration, had faced delays but that issues with the contractor have now been resolved.
Speaking after the tour, Aiyedatiwa expressed satisfaction with the progress since his last visit.
“I have walked about two kilometres on foot with the contractors and engineers to assess the quality of work and we have seen that quality work is ongoing, although minor corrections are required before asphalt laying.”
The governor noted the significant relief among residents who rely on the road to commute to the city centre.
He announced that the contractor has promised that asphalt laying will commence next week so that one side can be opened to commuters and road users.
“Very soon, we will come here to commission and open both sides for people to start using it”, the governor assured.
