Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, held a high-level working meeting with the Founder and President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, to advance structural plans for the proposed industrial corridor within the Olokola Free Trade Zone (FTZ).
The strategic meeting, which took place in Lagos on Saturday, July 11, 2026, serves as a direct follow-up to earlier institutional discussions between the Ondo State Government and the conglomerate regarding the establishment of a massive multi-sector industrial hub.
Speaking after the session, Aiyedatiwa stated that the deliberations focused heavily on practical steps required to accelerate the zone’s development.

The administration plans to leverage the state’s expansive coastline, prospective deep seaport capabilities, and substantial natural resource deposits to build a highly competitive commercial centre.

The governor emphasised that the revitalisation of the Olokola Free Trade Zone remains a core component of his administration’s economic master plan, specifically driven by the “OUR EASE” policy agenda.
The initiative is projected to attract significant local and foreign direct investment, generate thousands of jobs, and position the state as a dominant maritime and manufacturing player in the country.
During the engagement, both delegations reviewed the administrative progress achieved thus far and mapped out immediate next steps.
These upcoming milestones include specialised technical sessions, comprehensive infrastructure planning, and the finalisation of frameworks for private sector equity and participation.
Aiyedatiwa commended the billionaire industrialist for his continuous investment focus on the state and his broader commitment to national industrialisation.
