Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has ordered the immediate dismissal of all Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs), signalling a major shake-up in his administration.

The decision, announced on Monday, in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, is aimed at “enhancing efficiency and deepening service delivery” across the state.

Aiyedatiwa expressed his gratitude to the outgoing aides for their contributions to the development of the “Sunshine State.”

While wishing them well in their future professional and personal endeavours, he stressed that the move was essential to improving the government’s overall performance.

In a step reflecting his commitment to grassroots engagement, the governor revealed plans to appoint around 1,000 new aides in the coming weeks.

The appointments are expected to cover all 18 Local Government Areas of the state, and all 203 Wards, to ensure representation at the most local level.

He explained that the large-scale recruitment aims to “strengthen coordination and inject fresh capacity” into the administration.

By sourcing talent from every ward, the government seeks to forge stronger connections between state leadership and the citizenry.

The names of the new appointees will be announced in due course as the administration moves into its next phase of governance.
