FC Barcelona have confirmed that 18‑year‑old forward Lamine Yamal has suffered a hamstring injury in his left leg, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
The club announced on its official X account on Thursday, April 23, that medical tests revealed damage to the biceps femoris muscle. “The player will follow a conservative treatment plan and is expected to be available for the World Cup,” the statement read.
Yamal, who has been one of Barcelona’s standout performers this season, will now miss the final stretch of La Liga and the Copa del Rey campaign.

However, the assurance that he should recover in time for Spain’s World Cup squad offers relief to both club and country.

Barcelona must now adjust their attacking options as they push to secure Champions League qualification. The absence of the young winger is a significant blow, given his pace, creativity, and growing influence in the first team.
As a result, fans have expressed both disappointment at losing Yamal for the season and optimism that his recovery timeline aligns with Spain’s preparations for the global tournament.
