Bolaji Ogunmola shuts down dating rumours with Daniel Etim-Effiong

Nollywood actress Bolaji Ogunmola has responded to rumours linking her to a romantic relationship with her colleague on set, Daniel Etim-Effiong.

She explained during an interview on Jay On-Air TV that the kissing scenes people saw in films were purely part of their acting roles and were written into the script.

According to her, there was nothing personal attached to those moments and it was all work-related.

Ogunmola said she did not see anything unusual while filming because actors are expected to follow scripts and deliver their roles professionally.

She added that the situation changed after viewers began to assume that what they watched on screen reflected real life.

She noted that social media discussions later created the idea that she and Etim-Effiong were involved outside the movie set, but she made it clear that the story was not true.

She explained that they are only colleagues who meet and work together when filming and do not share a personal relationship away from work.

The actress also said the actor’s wife is aware of his profession and understands how film roles work.

She added that people close to actors usually know the difference between movie scenes and real life, so there is no issue at home.

She further pointed out that there is no hidden relationship or emotional bond between them outside their jobs.

According to her, their interaction ends on set and professional boundaries remain in place in the Nollywood industry.

She said: “We only kiss in movies. Even his wife is not bothered because she understands Daniel’s job. People started linking us together after the movie scenes, but there is nothing between us outside work. We are only colleagues in the industry.

“Actors are simply playing roles given to them, but people sometimes fail to separate movies from real life. We are not close outside film sets and there are no hidden feelings or arrangements. Professional boundaries are important in Nollywood.”
