Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of Nigeria international winger Femi Azeez from Millwall in a deal worth an initial £12.5 million, potentially rising to £15 million with add-ons.
The 25-year-old, who was named in the PFA and EFL Championship Teams of the Season for 2025/26, has signed a four-year contract with the option of an additional 12 months.
The deal was completed in the dying hours of the summer transfer window, with both clubs submitting a deal sheet before the 11pm deadline and finalising the agreement ahead of the extended 1am deadline. Azeez’s departure brings a club-record sale for Millwall, surpassing the £14m fee received from Crystal Palace for Romain Esse last year.
Azeez made 77 appearances for Millwall, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists. His most prolific campaign came in 2025/26, where he recorded 11 goals and eight assists in 37 games. He also played a key role in helping the Lions secure a place in the Championship play-offs.

The winger’s journey to the Premier League has been a long one. After playing for Watford at youth level, he joined non-league Northwood and also spent time with Wealdstone and Hanwell Town. He signed for Reading in 2019 before moving to Millwall in 2024 for approximately £1m.
Azeez broke into the Nigeria senior side this year, scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over Zimbabwe on his debut in June. He then provided an assist as the Super Eagles defeated Jamaica 3-0 four days later, winning the Unity Cup in London.
Azeez becomes Brighton’s 11th signing of a hectic summer window. He links up with fellow Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna, who joined from Swedish side AIK Stockholm in June. The Seagulls have raised significant funds through player sales, including Carlos Baleba’s £70m move to Manchester United.
