Nigerian singer CKay has reached a major milestone as his breakout hit Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah) becomes the first solo Nigerian song to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.
The 2019 track, which gained global traction through social media and international remixes, recently crossed the billion-stream mark, placing CKay in the history books once again.
With this achievement, CKay also becomes the first solo male African artist to hit the 1-billion benchmark on the platform.
Celebrating the accomplishment, he expressed gratitude on X, writing: “First solo nigerian song to cross 1 billion streams. Grateful to God and the people involved in this historic success! thank you for streaming.”

Wizkid was the first African artist to enter Spotify’s 1 Billion Club back in 2017 with One Dance, his global smash collaboration with Drake, which still holds the Guinness World Record as the first song to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.
Rema later became the first African lead artist to have a song exceed a billion streams, following the massive success of the Calm Down remix featuring Selena Gomez.
South African star Tyla is also on the list as the first African female artist to attain the milestone with her viral hit Water.
