US rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been moved to a federal prison in New Jersey, where he will serve his four-year, two-month sentence for prostitution-related offenses, according to a federal prison register released on Friday.

AFP reports that Combs is now held at the low-security Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, located about 130 kilometers (80 miles) south of New York. The facility is also recognized for its drug rehabilitation programs.

His legal team had requested that he be relocated to the prison where he is expected to remain until May 8, 2028, as confirmed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Combs was arrested in September 2024 and, in July 2025, convicted on two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution.

However, he was acquitted of the more severe charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.

Before his sentencing, the hip-hop star became emotional as he addressed the court, expressing deep remorse for his actions.

He said he was “truly sorry,” and apologized to his family and victims, describing his behavior as “disgusting, shameful, and sick.”

The judge’s ruling took into account the time Diddy had already spent in detention at a Brooklyn facility known for its harsh conditions.

According to AFP, Combs has since filed an appeal challenging both his conviction and the length of his sentence.
