Former Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, has officially stepped into the legal profession, making his first courtroom appearance as a lawyer on Friday.
Wearing the traditional wig and gown of the legal profession, Melaye appeared before Justice Emeka Nwite at Court 8 of the Federal High Court in Abuja. This marked his debut in court since he was called to the Nigerian Bar.
“Senator Dino Melaye at the Federal High Court Abuja today. Appeared before Justice Emeka Nwite of Court 8,” he wrote on his verified Facebook page.

Melaye was one of more than 5,000 individuals called to the Bar in Abuja earlier in July after completing his law degree at Baze University.
The politician, who previously served in the House of Representatives and the Senate during the 8th Assembly, is also a notable member of the Peoples Democratic Party.
His transition into law adds a fresh chapter to his diverse career, which has included activism, television appearances, and prominent political engagements.
