Police rescue three kidnapped victims after 40 days in captivity, arrest five informants

The Kaduna State Police Command has successfully rescued three abducted persons who were held captive for over 40 days and also arrested five suspected informants believed to be aiding a kidnapping network.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the development in a statement released on Saturday in Kaduna.

He explained that the rescue operation was executed by a combined security team drawn from Fushin Kada, working alongside the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Hunkuyi, following weeks of intelligence gathering, surveillance, and coordinated tactical operations that eventually led officers to a suspected hideout of the kidnappers.

“Upon sighting the advancing security personnel, the bandits fled the area, abandoning the victims who were subsequently rescued unharmed,” he said.

He further disclosed that five suspects were apprehended during the investigation for allegedly acting as informants to the kidnappers by supplying information and logistical support.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to intensifying efforts against kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state.

Muhammad also called on residents to continue providing timely and reliable information to security agencies, stressing that community support remains vital in combating criminal activities.

According to him, investigations are ongoing to track down other members of the kidnapping syndicate and ensure they are brought to justice.
