Aston Villa Women have completed the signing of Super Falcons defender Rofiat Imuran from London City Lionesses on a permanent transfer.
The 22-year-old left-back joins on a three-year contract, keeping her at the club until 2029. She becomes Villa’s ninth signing of the summer window under head coach Natalia Arroyo.
Imuran joins after two seasons with London City Lionesses, where she won the Barclays WSL2 title in her first season and made 10 appearances in the Women’s Super League last term.

She originally moved to England in 2024 after impressing with Nigeria at the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, where the Falconets reached the quarter-finals.

The Nigerian international began her senior career with French club Stade de Reims in 2022, where she spent two seasons and made over 30 appearances. She moved to London City Lionesses in 2024 and played a key role in the club’s historic promotion to the WSL.
On the international stage, Imuran made her senior Nigeria debut in 2022 and has been a regular presence in the Super Falcons squad. She was part of the team that reached the Round of 16 at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, where Nigeria were eliminated by England on penalties. She also featured at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Imuran is set to wear the number 22 shirt at Villa and could make her debut next weekend when Aston Villa open their 2026/27 WSL campaign away against former champions Chelsea. Her transfer is subject to visa approval.
Aston Villa finished ninth last season and endured defensive struggles for much of the campaign. The Midlands club will be hoping Imuran can provide greater strength and depth at the back as they look to improve on their league position.
