Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended his warm wishes to Muslim faithful in the state and across the country on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
In a goodwill message issued to commemorate the festival, the governor reminded citizens of the profound spiritual lessons behind the season, urging them to embrace harmony and mutual care.
Sanwo-Olu emphasised that the core tenets of the Islamic festival, faith, sacrifice, patience, and compassion, should extend beyond the celebration into daily national life.

He noted that the foundational story of the festival serves as a guiding light during periods of societal trials.

“The story of Prophet Ibrahim reminds us that even in difficult times, holding firmly to our faith and caring for one another brings lasting rewards,” Sanwo-Olu noted.
The governor also utilised the festive occasion to call for social cohesion among the residents of Lagos, framing the country’s growth and development as an ongoing, collective effort.
He urged all Lagosians to continue fostering peaceful coexistence and to remain steadfastly dedicated to the growth of the federation.
