Brondby sign Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis until 2028
Forgotten Premier League star Dennis revives career in Denmark

Nigerian international striker Emmanuel Dennis has joined Danish Superliga club Brondby IF on a free transfer, signing a contract that will run until the summer of 2028. The 28-year-old forward has been without a club since his contract with English Premier League side Nottingham Forest was terminated last summer.

He secured the move after a successful trial period with the Danish club. His performance during a week-long training camp impressed the Brondby coaching staff.

This move reunites Dennis with manager Steve Cooper. Cooper originally signed Dennis for Nottingham Forest in 2022. The manager now provides the player with a critical career lifeline in Denmark.

Cooper paid a reported £10 million for Dennis during his tenure at Forest. The striker struggled to establish himself at the Premier League club.

A career that needs consistency

Dennis previously showcased his talent in England. He scored 10 goals in 35 appearances for Watford during the 2021-22 season. His form that year included a goal in a victory over Manchester United.

His career began in Ukraine with Zorya Luhansk before a successful spell at Club Brugge. He won three Belgian league titles and famously scored twice against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Recent years involved multiple loan moves. These included spells at Istanbul Basaksehir, a return to Watford, and Blackburn Rovers. His last competitive appearance was for Blackburn in the Championship.

A fresh start in Denmark

At Brondby, Dennis will wear the number 17 shirt. The club currently competes in the Danish Superliga. This transfer gives Dennis a stable platform to rediscover his form.
