Chelsea have rejected several approaches for promising defender Josh Acheampong, with the club determined to retain one of its most highly rated academy graduates.
According to BBC Sport, the 20-year-old has been deemed “untouchable” by the Blues, underlining the high regard in which he is held at Stamford Bridge.
The England Under-21 international is viewed as a key part of Chelsea’s long-term plans and is reportedly considered among a select group of players central to the club’s future, alongside the likes of Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Moises Caicedo.

Despite his limited first-team experience, Chelsea remain convinced of Acheampong’s potential. The young defender made 17 Premier League appearances last season, nine of them from the bench, as he continued his development within the senior squad.

BBC Sport reported on Tuesday that interest in the defender is growing, with several Premier League clubs keeping a close watch on his situation.
Arsenal, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are all understood to be monitoring the player, while AFC Bournemouth have maintained their interest after tracking him during last summer’s transfer window.

Chelsea, however, are under no pressure to sell. Acheampong remains under contract until 2029, giving the club significant control over his future amid mounting interest.
It remains unclear whether the defender would consider leaving in pursuit of regular first-team football, but Chelsea’s position appears firm.
By rejecting multiple enquiries, the west London club have sent a clear message that they see Acheampong as an important part of their project and have no intention of letting him leave.
