The family of the late Nollywood actor, Junior Pope, has been hit by yet another tragedy following the death of his father, Ozor Luke Odonwodo.

The heartbreaking news was shared by Junior Pope’s wife, Jennifer Awele, in an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday. She posted a video montage showing her late husband, his father, and other family members.

In her message, the grieving mother of three recalled how she screamed upon hearing the news, only to gather herself quickly as her mother-in-law broke down in tears.

Describing her father-in-law as an octogenarian who lived a full and meaningful life, Awele paid tribute to his sacrifices and the love he showed to his family.

Her post reads:
“Barely one month ago, I was with you in Enugu…some days later, Reme (My mother in love) called, asked how I and her boys are doing and further went to say that her husband has gone to meet my husband.

“I screamed but had to quickly pull myself together as she started crying after I screamed Ozor Luke Odonwodo is one man that genuinely loved me…and I’m so thankful I got to spend time with him even though short unknowingly in his last days.

Junior Pope, born John Paul Odonwodo, was a beloved actor in Nollywood known for his talent and versatility.

In April 2024, he tragically lost his life in a boat accident on the River Niger in Anambra State while on his way to Asaba for a movie shoot. Three crew members also died in the incident.

Initially, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) had declared him alive after footage emerged of him being attended to by villagers. However, he was later confirmed dead.
