The Salt Lake City division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Friday made public surveillance footage showing the man believed to have fatally shot conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.
According to the bureau, the footage depicts the suspect climbing onto a rooftop just before the shooting, then leaping down and escaping immediately after firing the deadly shots.
Investigators said they later discovered a firearm and ammunition linked to the attack in a wooded area close to the university.
In its official statement, the FBI noted, “The FBI has released a video and more photos of the shooter in the Utah Valley shooting. The subject is seen jumping from the rooftop of a building after the shooting. Around 12 pm Mountain Time on September 10, 2025, the subject climbed up to a rooftop; after he shot and killed Charlie Kirk, he jumped off and ran away. He left a gun and ammunition in a wooded area near the university.”

The agency also revealed that forensic teams collected shoe impressions, a forearm imprint, and a palm print from the rooftop. It urged anyone with useful information to reach out via 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit fbi.gov/utahvalleyshooting.
Authorities said they are collaborating with other law enforcement agencies to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
Kirk, 31, a prominent supporter of former President Donald Trump and head of a major conservative youth movement, was killed while attending an event on campus.
Earlier this week, the FBI released initial images of a person of interest and announced a $100,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
Meanwhile, AFP reported that two individuals wrongly identified online as the shooter expressed fear for their safety as the search for the actual gunman continues.
