Agboola Ajayi, the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ondo State, has said he has not joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or taken part in any coalition involving the party.

The clarification was made on Wednesday in Akure, where Ajayi joined eight other PDP leaders in dismissing the defection reports.

They said the news making rounds was false and had no basis.

The statement came after several media reports speculated that Ajayi was part of recent political talks and alignments involving national opposition figures.

However, PDP leaders insisted that no such deal had been reached with any party, either at the state or national level.

According to them, PDP remains firm and fully organised across all wards and local government areas in Ondo State.

They also urged members who may have believed the false information to return and stand with the party.

Those who signed the statement along with Ajayi include Senator Bode Olajumoke, Debo Ologunagba, Eddy Olafeso, Clement Faboyede, Olajide Oguntodu, Ladi Omotehinse, Bakkita Bello, and Oluseye Olujimi.
