Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has announced that the coalition of political allies working towards the 2027 general elections has adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its political platform.
Obi, in a statement on his X page on Thursday, revealed that former Senate President, David Mark, will serve as the National Chairman of the coalition under the ADC, while former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, will take on the role of National Secretary.
He said the coalition’s decision to align with the ADC followed careful reflection on Nigeria’s current challenges and the urgent need to chart a new course for the nation’s future.

“Our commitment is to sacrifice and work together towards the 2027 General Elections, ensuring that Nigeria gets a competent, capable, and compassionate leadership that will prioritise the welfare of Nigerians,” Obi said.
Obi emphasised that no single group can bring about the change Nigeria needs, adding that the coalition is focused on building bridges across political, ethnic, and regional divides.
“To dismantle the structures that keep our people in poverty and insecurity, we must build bridges, not walls—even when those bridges are uneasy,” he stated.
He reaffirmed his belief in Nigeria’s potential.
