Lagos State Health District III has concluded a comprehensive free medical outreach to three riverine communities in Epe Local Government Area, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to inclusive and equitable healthcare delivery.
The outreach targeted the Emmuna, Saga, and Abomiti communities, all located within the Olugbokere Ward, providing essential medical services to residents who face geographical challenges in accessing routine healthcare.
Permanent Secretary of Health District III, Monsurat Adeleke, described the intervention as a demonstration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration’s resolve to ensure that no community is left behind in the State’s healthcare agenda.
“We navigated deep into Epe’s waterways by boat in demonstration of our resolve to bring healthcare to even the most remote communities,” she said.
Adeleke noted that the outreach provided a holistic range of services, including free medical consultations, health and dental screenings, eyeglasses, immunisation for children and infants, and maternal and child health education.

“Through these outreach programmes, we are not just treating illness; we are promoting wellness and preventing disease through education and early intervention,” she stated.
She added that the initiative, which witnessed enthusiastic participation by elderly residents and young mothers, further addressed health awareness gaps and empowered communities with vital knowledge on preventive care.
The outreach also offered blood pressure and diabetes checks, alongside family planning counselling and services, marking a strategic push towards both immediate relief and long-term community wellbeing.
Adeleke reaffirmed that Health District III would continue to prioritise underserved areas, reinforcing the government’s vision of a healthier and more inclusive Lagos for all.
