Fulham Stun Spurs with 2–1 Win to Claim First Ever Victory at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Harry Wilson scores a stunning long range effort against Tottenham after Vicario's loose clearance far away from his goal.

Fulham claimed their first-ever victory at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, defeating Spurs 2–1 in a frantic Premier League clash. Tottenham’s early-season home problems continued, with this loss marking their fourth home defeat and extending their run to no home league wins since the opening weekend against Burnley.

Spurs remain 10th in the table, while Fulham sit 15th, now just one point behind Thomas Frank’s side.

Fulham Strike Twice in Six Minutes

Fulham burst out of the blocks and stunned the home crowd with two goals inside the opening six minutes.

  • 4th minute: Kenny Tete fired Fulham ahead when his shot deflected off Destiny Udogie and wrong-footed goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. The chance came from an intelligent cut-back by Samuel Chukwueze.
  • 6th minute: Just moments later, Vicario raced out of his box and produced a poor clearance. Josh King recycled the ball to Wilson, who curled a spectacular effort from 36.6 metres into an unguarded net. It was a goal that left Spurs fans stunned and Fulham players in disbelief.

Spurs were rattled, and Chukwueze almost made it 3–0, smashing the post before Micky van de Ven’s excellent recovery tackle denied him a second clear chance.

Spurs Fight Back but Fall Short

Tottenham struggled to create chances in the first half and didn’t register a shot on target until the second period.

  • 57th minute: Randal Kolo Muani headed wide from close range — Spurs’ first real opening.
  • 59th minute: Mohammed Kudus pulled one back with a thunderous left-foot volley at the near post, finally beating Bernd Leno.

Spurs then enjoyed their best spell:

  • Lucas Bergvall’s looping header forced Raul Jimenez into a crucial goal-line clearance.
  • Kolo Muani later flicked a clever backheel into the side netting.

Despite late pressure, Fulham remained well-organised and saw out the final minutes with relative comfort. The match ended with loud boos from the home supporters, frustrated by another disappointing home display.

Pressure Mounts on Tottenham After Worst Home Start in Years

Spurs entered this match under heavy scrutiny after conceding nine goals in two games against Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain. Instead of a response, they suffered their earliest-ever two-goal home deficit in Premier League history, trailing 2–0 after just 5 minutes 43 seconds.

Tottenham vs Fulham Match Stats
Tottenham goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario’s loose clearance was punished by Harry Wilson

Vicario, usually one of Spurs’ most reliable players, was partly responsible for the second Fulham goal, choosing to keep the ball in play before slicing his clearance and leaving the goal exposed.

Spurs’ home form is now a major concern:

  • Home record this season: 7 games, 1 win, 5 points
  • Goals conceded at home: Among the highest in the league
  • Winless at home since August

With confidence low and pressure growing on Thomas Frank, Spurs may actually benefit from playing away from North London. Their next challenge comes away at Newcastle United on Tuesday, where another defeat could further deepen the early-season crisis.
