Monaco produced a disciplined and inspired display as Takumi Minamino’s crisp finish secured a narrow victory over Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
The Japan star placed his shot perfectly into the bottom corner after connecting with Aleksandr Golovin’s well-timed cross. It was a moment of precision that ultimately separated the two sides.
PSG struggled to find rhythm throughout the contest, despite enjoying long spells of possession.
Monaco, meanwhile, stayed compact and waited for opportunities to break with purpose. Their organisation constantly frustrated the champions. The hosts faced late adversity when Thilo Kehrer received a red card following a VAR review. His foul on Ibrahim Mbaye left Monaco with 10 men for the closing stages. Yet their resilience only strengthened as the pressure mounted.
Pogba returns as Monaco hold firm against late PSG surge

Paul Pogba came on late to a warm reception, marking his first home appearance for Monaco and only his second match in more than two years. His brief cameo added composure as Monaco attempted to see out the tense finale.

PSG pushed aggressively in stoppage time and created two big chances. Vitinha forced a smart save, while Joao Neves headed narrowly off target with the goal in sight. Those misses proved costly as the champions failed to rescue a point.
The win lifts Monaco to sixth and injects renewed confidence into their campaign. PSG maintains top spot (30 points) after Marseille (29 points) failed to capitalise and move to first on the log. Les Olympiens played a 2-2 draw with Tolouse in a late fixture.
Meanwhile Lens, who occupy third with 28 points, have an outstanding away game against Angers later on Sunday. A win would take them to the summit of Ligue 1.
