Google now lets users choose “Preferred Sources” to see more of their favorite news outlets in the Top Stories section, now rolling out in the U.S. and India.
To set it, users search for a topical headline, click the icon next to Top Stories, select outlets they trust, and refresh results.
Selected sources will appear more often in Top Stories and in a new “From your sources” section, while still showing other coverage.
No limit exists on how many sources can be selected. Early testers often chose four or more. If previously used in Labs, selections carry over.
Publishers can guide their readers to add them as preferred sources and use help resources Google provides for better visibility.
