Popular businessman Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, has urged people in the South-East to support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
According to him, such support could help secure the freedom of Nnamdi Kanu and Igbo presidency achievable.
He made this known on Wednesday while reacting to a viral video of a South-East traditional ruler who appealed to the President to either release Kanu or send him back to Kenya, where he was first arrested.
Chief Priest in a post on his Instagram story commended the royal father for appearing in person to deliver the message.
He said going to Abuja in person was important so that the President would clearly hear the concerns of people from the South-East.
Speaking in Pidgin, the socialitr advised the South-East to work closely with the current government instead of staying in opposition.

He said fighting the government would not bring the desired result, adding that cooperation could create room for dialogue and possible action on Kanu’s case.
He expressed hope that if the region shows support, the President may consider releasing the detained IPOB leader.
Cubana Chief Priest also referred to the 2023 presidential election, stating that Tinubu won without receiving the majority of votes from the South-East.
He said that the same outcome could happen again in 2027 if the region does not change its political approach.
He urged the people to think about giving their votes to Tinubu in the next election so they could have stronger bargaining power.
He further argued that supporting Tinubu might improve the chances of an Igbo person becoming president in the future.
He pointed out that Tinubu played a role in the political journey that led to Muhammadu Buhari becoming president and later emerged as president himself.
Based on this, he said there is a possibility that power could be handed over to an Igbo candidate if the South-East stands firmly behind the current administration for another term.

“Hopefully, he will hand over power to an Igbo man. He made Buhari president, a Hausa man. He made himself, a Yoruba man president. What makes you think he won’t make an Igbo man president if we clearly support him for one more term? Igbo best stake is on Asiwaju. Just think it out. Man has the best political structure in the country to win election make we no waste our votes.”
