Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo has declared her willingness to collaborate with any political party committed to improving Nigeria’s future.
Her statement follows the controversy surrounding a promotional video she recorded for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
In a clip shared on X by FAAN, the actress commended what she described as visible improvements at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. She also reposted the footage, writing, “FAAN is changing for the better in so many ways. I’m so proud of my country.”
The video triggered mixed reactions online, particularly because of her previously known political position. Critics pointed out that she had earlier spoken against the administration of President Bola Tinubu and openly supported Peter Obi during the 2023 general elections.
Addressing the backlash, FAAN’s Managing Director, Olubunmi Kuku, dismissed claims circulating online that Ojo had been awarded a contract or appointed as an ambassador for the agency.

Responding to the controversy, Ojo maintained that her actions were driven purely by patriotism. She insisted she was not paid for the video and reiterated her readiness to partner with any political platform focused on national development.
Taking to Instagram, she wrote:
“I’m Nigerian. And I’m a voice. When I see progress, airports upgraded, roads rebuilt, systems improved etc, I shout it from the rooftops if need be, not because I am being paid, not because I am political, but because I feel it and I want good for my country. I will continue to use my craft, my voice, to promote Nigeria, and I am unapologetic about it.
“FAAN approached me that you have seen the changes. Please help us spread the word. So I did it for free. No contract. Just love for Nigeria. If Nigeria must rise we ALL must build it. Silence helps no one. I will work with any political party as long as it is building a better tomorrow for our dear nation. No agenda. Just hands joined. Let’s stop dividing”, she said.
The development comes amid reports that several celebrities and influencers have recently been engaged by Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, to spearhead support groups ahead of the 2027 re-election campaign.
The promotional clip surfaced months after Ojo, widely known for backing Peter Obi, held a private meeting with Seyi Tinubu in Lagos State.
