Nigeria international Alex Iwobi suffered a hamstring injury on Saturday, April 18, during Fulham’s Premier League clash against Brentford, raising concerns for both club and country.
Fulham confirmed after the match that the midfielder will undergo further assessment in the coming days to determine the severity of the injury.
“Alex Iwobi was forced off with a hamstring injury during Fulham’s clash against Brentford. He will be assessed in the coming days,” the club stated.
Iwobi pulled up late in the first half after chasing a loose ball and immediately signaled discomfort. Medical staff attended to him on the sidelines before manager Marco Silva opted to substitute him, with Samuel Chukwueze coming on as replacement.
