The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has launched an enforcement exercise targeting indiscriminate parking within the State Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, as part of efforts to tackle traffic congestion in the area.
The agency’s Monitoring and Enforcement Team moved into the Secretariat complex and issued removal notices to vehicle owners who parked on kerbs, walkways, and in areas marked with ‘No Parking’ signs, including instances of double parking.
LASPA observed that several of the vehicles in violation belonged to individuals who are not government officials but operate offices near the Secretariat, resulting in overstretched parking facilities.

Vehicle owners were given a 24-hour ultimatum to remove their cars or face towing under the state’s parking regulations.
The enforcement followed a directive by the Lagos State Head of Service, Olabode Agoro, during the July edition of the Monthly Fitness Walk.
He urged LASPA to commence action against indiscriminate parking at the State Secretariat and the Old Secretariat before expanding operations across the state.
In a statement, LASPA encouraged residents to adopt responsible parking habits by obeying signage and avoiding obstruction of traffic, warning that enforcement across Lagos had begun.
