Reacting to the record turnout, the Executive Secretary of the LJLA, Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade, described the figures as a clear indicator of the untapped talent and leadership potential among Nigeria’s youth.

“We are inspired by the overwhelming response from young Nigerians across the country,” Agbaje-Okunade said.

“The volume and quality of applications received over the years continue to reaffirm our belief that Nigeria is filled with visionary, passionate, and solution-driven young people who are eager to serve and lead with purpose.”

Selection process

With thousands competing for limited slots, the Academy has moved into a multi-tiered selection phase.

It will subject prospective fellows to a highly competitive vetting process designed to assess their leadership potential and problem-solving ability.

Their critical thinking and analytical skills, understanding of public policy frameworks and verifiable record of community or public service impact will also be assessed.
