The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has announced a strategic collaboration with the creators of MyLagosApp, a tech-driven platform designed to streamline tourism, hospitality, transportation, and entertainment services across the state.

The partnership aims to enhance both residents’ and tourists’ experiences through integrated service delivery, particularly as preparations intensify for the highly anticipated Detty December festivities.

During a meeting in Alausa, the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe, hosted Ifeoma Chukwu, the convener of MyLagosApp, where he expressed strong support for the initiative.

“We need better synergy to tell our stories the right way and position Lagos as a leading tourism and entertainment destination in Africa. A tech-driven approach like MyLagosApp aligns with our vision,” Aregbe said.

He underscored the importance of early stakeholder engagement and revealed plans for a two-day event that will unveil the state’s roadmap for the festive season.

“Detty December starts planning in October and November. We must integrate our efforts early for maximum impact,” he added.

Aregbe also called on organisations, promoters, and event planners with activities slated for December to formally register their events with the Ministry.

He noted that early registration would ensure coordinated scheduling, adherence to safety standards, and access to state-level support and promotion.

“This is not just about visibility; it’s about responsibility,” Aregbe stated.

“By registering with the Ministry, event organisers will be part of a unified calendar that helps avoid scheduling clashes, enhances security, and ensures that the Lagos brand is professionally represented across all festive engagements.”

In her remarks, Ifeoma Chukwu described MyLagosApp as a centralised hub offering real-time updates on events, traffic, lodging, nightlife, and government-endorsed activities.

She said the goal is to partner with the Ministry to showcase Lagos in its full vibrancy and ensure a seamless, well-informed experience for both residents and visitors.

Chukwu also hinted at plans for the official launch of MyLagosApp, expressing hope that an endorsement from the Ministry would further boost the app’s credibility and reach.

The collaboration underscores the state government’s commitment to leveraging technology and partnerships to deliver a world-class festive season in line with the Greater Lagos Rising agenda.
