The Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA) has commenced a mandatory revalidation exercise for all third-party outdoor advertising operators within the state.
This development was made public by the agency’s Director-General, Oludolapo Esho, through a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, in Ibadan on Thursday.
Esho explained, “The exercise forms a key part of the agency’s strategic effort to create a comprehensive, veritable and digitalized database of all signages and billboards across the state, in line with the OYSAA’s to an agency-approved digital platform.”
He clarified that the aim of the revalidation is to strengthen regulatory control, foster greater transparency, and boost the efficiency of service delivery.
According to him, “The State Government has mandated that all registered practitioners should appear at the agency’s office, Secretariat, Ibadan to update their company’s credentials for accurate confirmation of location approval and tagging off all billboards under the management of the agency.

“To this effect, the revalidation exercise is mandatory for all outdoor practitioners with no options with the stipulated timeframe. Non-compliance of the exercise attracts immediate deregistration of such billboard structures and removal of such by the agency without exception.”
Esho further acknowledged Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts in promoting a supportive environment for businesses, reaffirming the agency’s dedication to a well-regulated advertising sector.
He called on all stakeholders in the outdoor advertising industry to adhere strictly to the outlined procedures and timelines for the revalidation process.
