World football governing body FIFA has joined in celebrating Nigeria’s Super Falcons following their sensational comeback win over Morocco to clinch a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), FIFA wrote: “Naija no dey carry last! 🇳🇬 WAFCON Champions! 🏆” — a nod to Nigeria’s indomitable spirit and their rich footballing heritage.
The dramatic final in Rabat saw the Super Falcons come from two goals down to beat hosts Morocco 3-2. Goals from Esther Okoronkwo, Folasade Ijamilusi, and a late winner by Jennifer Echegini sealed the triumph.
