The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed that seventeen people were rescued after a three‑storey commercial building collapsed at Alakija Bus Stop in Lagos State.
The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, June 25, prompting the immediate activation of search and rescue operations.
NEMA’s Lagos Operations Office deployed officials to the scene to coordinate response activities and work closely with other emergency agencies.
In a statement, NEMA said it was “monitoring developments and facilitating effective collaboration among responding agencies to ensure a timely and efficient response.”

Rescued victims sustained varying degrees of injuries and are receiving medical attention at nearby hospitals.
Search and rescue teams remain on site as operations continue to determine whether additional persons are trapped beneath the debris.
