Netflix publishes statement following alleged plan to exit Nigeria

Netflix, the online movie streaming platform, has released a statement following allegations that it will no longer render its services in Nigeria.

News Round The Clock (NRTC) reports that Netflix has reportedly exited the Nigerian market due to the countryā€™s economic challenges and regulatory pressures.

Reacting to the viral reports, Netflix in a statement sent to TechCabal, stated that it remains firmly committed to its operations in Nigeria.

While dismissing the rumors, the firm said it will continue to invest in Nigerian stories to delight its audience.

ā€œWe are not exiting Nigeria. We will continue to invest in the countryā€™s stories to delight our members.ā€

NRTC reports that Netflix which entered the Nigerian market in 2016, has elevated many local content to a global audience.
