Nigeria has secured a clean sweep at the 2025 Gothia Cup, winning all elite youth categories — U-16, U-17, and U-18 — for the first time.
This achievement reflected a major milestone in the country’s football history. No previous Nigerian team has recorded such a consistent performance across all tournament tiers.
In the U-16 final, Nigeria Eagles outclassed Maryland Bobcats FC of the United States. They won 3–0 with total control from start to finish.
Meanwhile, Beyond Limits Football Academy clinched the U-17 title. They defeated ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast in a gripping 8–7 penalty shootout.

In contrast, the U-18 final proved less dramatic. Sporting Supreme FC dismantled Sweden’s Varbergs Bois FC with a confident 4–0 victory to complete the sweep.
Notably, all finals occurred at Gamla Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg. The games marked the 50th anniversary of the tournament’s founding in Sweden.
