If you’re a fan of romcoms, then you shouldn’t miss this. It is based on a 2021 novel of the same name. It follows best friends, Poppy and Alex, who seem very different. Poppy wants to explore the world, and Alex prefers to stay home with a good book. They live far apart, but for a decade, they have spent one week of summer vacation together.

6. The Big Fake

This drama film, inspired by real events, explores an aspiring artist who becomes a master forger for criminal gangs in 1970s Rome.

8. The Dreamer Cinderella

At its center is Xochitl, a Mexican-American street fruit vendor whose life takes an unexpected turn when a powerful film director makes her the subject of a daring bet with his career rival. Xochitl is thrust into a world she perceives as hostile. What follows is a clash of cultures, paving the way for new friendships, surprising rivalries, and life-altering consequences.

This romantic drama hits theatres on January 23.

9. Everything is New Again

This Nigerian romantic drama explores the complexities of an age-gap relationship. It follows Funmi, a single mother who finds love again in a younger man, Ekene. Despite disapproval from family and friends, they fight for their relationship and prove that age is just a number.

Cinemas will release the movie on January 30, 2026. Starring Mercy Aigbe, Vine Olugu, Nancy Isime, Desmond Elliot and Ngozi Nwosu.

10. Alive Till Dawn

During a sudden zombie attack, some ex-convicts, a police officer, and a stranded girl get trapped in a building. They will have to work together to survive till dawn with the apocalypse happening outside. Nollywood presents its first major zombie apocalypse film. Starring Sunshine Rosman, Uzor Arukwe, Chisom Agoawuike, Sani Muazu, and Michael Dappa. 

This zombie thriller will be released in cinemas nationwide on January 30th.
