Former Super Eagles striker Michael Eneramo has died at the age of 40 after collapsing during a routine training session. The unfortunate incident occurred in Kaduna on Friday, April 24.
The National Sports Commission announced the news in a post shared on its official X account.
In the post, the Commission expressed deep shock and sadness, describing Eneramo as “a respected professional whose contributions to Nigerian football will be remembered with pride.” It added, “His legacy will continue to inspire the next generation.”

Eneramo enjoyed a distinguished career across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, featuring for Espérance Sportive de Tunis and several Turkish clubs.
He earned 10 caps for Nigeria’s senior team, scoring three goals, and was widely regarded for his physical presence and commitment on the pitch.
