Remo Stars emerged winners of the 2024-25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with 68 points. That result gave them a direct route into the 2025-26 CAF Champions League season.
Captain Junior Nduka admitted their last outing in Africa lacked impact. He plans to lead a better effort when the new season kicks off.
They exited early in the 2024–25 campaign, missing big chances. Supporters expected more. Nduka promised to guide the team with renewed purpose.

The new season begins in September. The players resumed training early and are working on correcting past weaknesses with better preparation.
Remo Stars became the first private club to lift the NPFL title. Their win made history but continental glory will need more.
Meanwhile, CAF Champions League football demands for more. Winning at home is not enough. They must now prove themselves on a higher stage.
Following Enyimba’s lead
Enyimba remain Nigeria’s last CAF Champions League winners. They triumphed in 2003 and retained the title in 2004. No other club has matched that.
The Aba club also secured two CAF Super Cups and nine NPFL titles. Yet they now find continental success harder to repeat.

In 2024, Enyimba only reached the Confederation Cup group stage. That result showed how competitive the continent has become.
North African clubs remain consistent in their dominance. Egypt and Morocco continue to invest in quality, structure, and coaching.
Nigerian teams need to match that standard or risk falling behind. Financial stability alone will not close the gap.
Remo Stars are aware of the challenge. Their ambition reflects planning, not wishful thinking. They aim to compete with boldness.
They have three months to fine-tune systems, develop, and stay injury-free. The outcome will depend on precision and execution.
The club knows the weight of expectation. Nigeria looks to them for progress. Remo Stars are not stepping back.
