Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has confirmed that her marriage to fellow actor Frederick Leonard has officially come to an end after weeks of public exchanges over their divorce.
The actress shared the update on Wednesday through her Instagram Story, where she reposted a message from a friend celebrating her freedom.
She later added another post thanking God and saying the matter had been concluded.
On Thursday, Peggy also shared a Snapchat video of herself with the caption identifying herself as Miss Peggy Ovire, a move many saw as confirmation that the divorce had been finalized.

Her announcement comes after she publicly accused Frederick Leonard of being involved in a relationship with a married woman during the divorce process.

She had also accused him of failing to appear in court despite being the one who started the divorce proceedings.
According to Peggy, Leonard missed two court sittings and sent his lawyer to represent him instead.
She had earlier urged him to attend the June 23 customary court hearing so the marriage could be formally dissolved.
In her earlier social media posts, the actress alleged that Leonard was having an affair with another man’s wife, who is a mother of four.
She also claimed he denied the allegation publicly but chose not to appear before the court after receiving details of her divorce petition.
Peggy said she was prepared to present evidence during the hearing to ensure the marriage was legally brought to an end.
As of the time of filing this report, Frederick Leonard has not made any public statement regarding Peggy’s claims or her announcement that their marriage has officially ended.
Peggy Ovire and Frederick Leonard confirmed their relationship in October 2022 after the actor publicly celebrated her birthday and revealed they were a couple.
The pair later held their traditional wedding in Warri, Delta State, on November 19, 2022.
Speculation about problems in their marriage began in 2024 and grew stronger earlier this year after Peggy removed Leonard’s surname from her social media profile.
