The narrative is aimed at looking at how football can determine the mental wellbeing of not only the players on the pitch but the fans who are in the stands and the audience viewing the game from the comfort of their homes or enjoying the conviviality of different classes of people at a viewing center.

Football doesnāt only bring happiness and hope, it could also breed resentment, animosity and despair. Hey, life isnāt fair- just like the game of life, in football, there are conundrums and moments of downtrodden in the game of football.
After surviving the group stages through the skin of their teeth, we saw teams bow out in the round of 16. Some were able to soar further, just like the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
As for the host, Ivory Coast, after finishing as one of the best losers in the group stages, they were able to overcome the defending champions, Senegal, 5-4 on penalties.
So far, the games at the AFCON tournament hasnāt been to the swift, instead it has been to the determined, rugged and most importantly, the lucky- yes, not necessarily the best.
