The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that a stun gun was found in the possession of Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the Senior Pastor of House on the Rock, after he visited the Command Headquarters in Ikeja on Tuesday for questioning.
This development comes a week after a video went viral, showing the pastor inside a car holding what looked like a pistol while confronting someone who was recording his vehicle.
The clip drew mixed reactions online, with some people accusing the pastor of brandishing a firearm in public.
Following the public reaction, Pastor Adefarasin responded through a statement, denying that the object in his hand was a gun.
He maintained that it was not a real weapon and that he did not aim it at anyone.
After his visit to the police, the Command confirmed through a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the object was a stun gun.
According to the police, although the item is not a lethal weapon, it falls under prohibited anti-riot gear.
The police said Adefarasin was interviewed, gave a cautionary statement, and was later released on bail.
However, the investigation into the matter has not yet been concluded.
