Ronaldo becomes Al Nassr’s second-highest scorer with 131 goals

Cristiano Ronaldo has moved into second place on Al Nassr’s all-time scoring list after netting his 131st goal for the club in Friday’s 2-1 victory over Al Taawoun.

The 41-year-old Portuguese legend is now joint-second alongside Mohammed Al-Sahlawi, with only Majed Abdullah’s formidable tally of 259 goals standing between him and the top spot.

The record-breaking moment came in the 50th minute at Al Awwal Park. Ronaldo flicked home a goalbound effort from teammate Mohamed Simakan, turning what was already heading into the bottom corner into the roof of the net. The strike proved the winner, maintaining Al-Nassr’s perfect start to the season.

The goal was Ronaldo’s 104th in the Saudi Pro League, surpassing Mohammed Al-Sahlawi’s previous record of 103. He reached the landmark in just 110 appearances, an astonishing rate of nearly a goal per game.

Ronaldo’s achievement extends beyond the league. His 131st goal for Al Nassr across all competitions puts him joint-second in the club’s all-time list, level with Al-Sahlawi. The pair now trail only Majed Abdullah, who scored 259 goals for the club.

The victory extended Al Nassr’s remarkable scoring run to 91 consecutive matches. They have won all four of their opening league fixtures and sit top of the Saudi Pro League table.

Ronaldo’s career tally now stands at 978 goals, leaving him just 22 short of the unprecedented milestone of 1,000 career goals. With the Saudi Pro League season still in its early stages, the 41-year-old remains focused on both individual and team glory. Al Nassr face Al Ittihad next on September 5.

For now, Ronaldo continues to rewrite the record books. He is now the second-highest scorer in Al Nassr’s history and the club’s all-time leading marksman in the Saudi Pro League era. Only one name now stands ahead of him.
