Aryna Sabalenka has defended her US Open women’s singles title with a straight-sets win over Amanda Anisimova. Sabalenka, ranked world No.1, defeated Amanda Anisimova 6-3, 7-6(3) in the women’s singles final on September 6. The match lasted one hour and forty minutes.
Sabalenka hit 25 winners with 22 unforced errors, while Anisimova recorded 28 winners but 35 errors. The Belarusian secured her 100th Grand Slam match win in the process.
The victory marked Sabalenka’s second consecutive US Open title, making her the first back-to-back champion since Serena Williams, who had won three straight between 2012 and 2014.

Anisimova, playing her second successive major final after Wimbledon, pushed Sabalenka to a tiebreak in the second set but could not sustain consistency under pressure.
Sabalenka credited her improved emotional control for the win. Anisimova admitted to nerves but expressed determination to build on her back-to-back finals appearances.
