Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced a 50% fare reduction for the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line starting on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
In a statement posted on his X page on Wednesday, Sanwo-Olu said the move was to celebrate the transit system’s second anniversary.
The governor shared the news in a public statement, reflecting on the line’s success and thanking Lagosians for their support.
Since its launch two years ago, the Blue Line has safely transported over five million passengers without a single reported accident.
According to the governor, the rail system has significantly improved travel for residents, now operating more than 90 trips daily with trains arriving every ten minutes.
