Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen has completed a €75m move from Napoli to Galatasaray as the 2025 summer transfer window closed on September 1, marking the most valuable deal for a Super Eagles player.
The Turkish champions finalised the four-year agreement after Osimhen’s successful loan spell last season, confirming a salary package of €15m per year. The transfer set a new Turkish football record.
Meanwhile, other Super Eagles internationals secured moves across Europe. Tolu Arokodare joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from Genk in a £24m deal, signing a four-year contract with an option for a fifth.
Wilfred Ndidi ended his nine-year stay at Leicester City, completing a €9.5m switch to Beşiktaş. He signed a three-year contract worth €4m annually.
Moses Simon departed Nantes for Paris FC in a €7m move. The winger agreed a three-year deal after recording eight goals and ten assists in Ligue 1 last season.

Failed attempts and retainments
However, not every expected move occurred. Ademola Lookman stayed at Atalanta despite Bayern Munich interest. Kelechi Iheanacho remained at Sevilla, while Sadiq Umar and Taiwo Awoniyi also stayed at their clubs.
The confirmed transfers showed a total market value exceeding €150m for Nigerian players. Turkey and mid-tier European clubs attracted several stars, while the Premier League continued to draw rising forwards.
