President Bola Tinubu has completed the constitution of the boards for three key federal institutions: the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF), the Bank of Agriculture (BOA), and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
The appointments aim to strengthen governance and leadership across the agricultural finance and education sectors.
NADF, an agency conceived by farmers and agripreneurs to boost access to affordable capital, now has a full governing board.
The board members are pivotal to the agency’s work of promoting agricultural development and food security.
The board is chaired by Bello Maccido (North West), a financial services veteran and pioneer chairman of FBNQuest Merchant Bank Limited.
Other appointed members, representing the six geo-political zones, include: Nelson Essien (South-South), a financial Consultant and Banker, and Amina Habib (North-West), a fellow of the Institute of Chartered AccountantsOthers are Akinyinka Akinnola (South West), an engineer, Hassan Usman (North East), a founder of New Frontier Developments Ltd, Lufer Samson Orkar (North Central), and Felix Achibiri (South East), a group Director of Genesis Energy HoldingsMuhammad Ibrahim was previously appointed as the Executive Secretary and CEO of NADF in October 2023.
Tinubu confirmed the previously announced appointments of Muhammad Babangida as Chairman and Ayo Sotinrin as Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture.
The BOA provides credit facilities to support agricultural activities and small businesses in rural areas.

The full board now comprises the following members.
Fatima Garba was appointed Executive Director of Corporate Services, representing Sokoto in the North West, and Ka’amuna Khadi will serve as Executive Director of Risk Management, representing Borno in the North East.
Hakeem Salami was named Executive Director of Operations, representing Kwara in the North Central zone.
The board also includes several Non-Executive Directors: Aminu Mohammed from the North East; Charles Amuchienwa from the South East; Oladejo Odunuga from the South West; Rabiu Funtua from the North West; and Kochi Lorgyer from the North Central.
Umaru Al-Makura will continue to serve as the Chairman of the UBEC Board, having been appointed in July.
Members representing the geo-political zones have a four-year term in the first instance: Uchendu Mbaegbulem– South East, Gift Ngo– South South, Ibiwunmi Akinnola, South West, Meiro Mandara – North East, Abdu Saulawa– North West and Paul Bolorunduro, North Central.
